1.   "It's A Small World" written by Roger and Richard Sherman is  probably one of the most 

         played  songs  in musical history. Since it repeatedly plays at Disney Theme Parks, all over    

        the world,  it plays over 1,200 time each day during the 16 hours,  most of the Disney Parks 

         are open .  


2.   Quincy Jones and  his brothers and sisters, sometimes ate rats, fried by their grandmother,   

         because their father often had a hard time providing food for the family,

1.   "Chattanooga Choo Choo" written in 1941 by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren and originally    

         recorded  by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra,  was the first song ever to receive a gold record   

          after selling 1.2 million copies. 


2.   In 1962, composer Richard Rodgers became the first person to win an EGOT. EGOT stands for  

      Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.  Rodgers won an Oscar for best song for State Fair, six Tony 

      Awards,  two Grammys, an Emmy for the music for a documentary about  Winston Churchill 

      called "The Valiant Years, "

1.  Barbra Streisand when she was younger, grew her fingernails long, 

      so she would never have to get a job that involved  typing. 


2. Van Morrison, who was born in Northern Ireland,  was influenced greatly by his father's vast and  diversified record collection  which ranged from gospel and folk, to  jazz and country music.

1.   Over ten universities  including Harvard, Sanford, and  the University of Florida,  offer  a class about Taylor Swift and her music.  Most are in the music department, but Arizona State is offering a class in its psychology department entitled, "  Psychology of Taylor Swift ". 


2.  Over 30 different musicians have been members of The Drifters since 1956.

1.  "With a Little Help from My Friends "was originally called “Bad Finger Boogie” because John Lennon wrote the melody on the piano with his middle finger after hurting his index finger .


2.  The song "Splish Splash " was written when DJ Murray the K, the song's co-writer, bet Bobby Darin that he couldn't write a song starting with the line, "Splish Splash, I was taking a bath".

                                Music Trivia for  4-3-24

1.   Elvis Presley's hit "Don't Be Cruel" was written by songwriter Otis Blackwell,  who also  wrote 

  "All Shook Up", Jerry Lee Lewis's " Great Balls of Fire" , and Peggy Lee's  "Fever".   "Don't Be Cruel"         

   was released as a  "double A-side single.  Both sides went to  number 1! 


2.  When she was a child,  Gloria Gaynor's family was so poor that her mother, a single  woman with    

     7 children, made flatbread using animal crackers because she couldn't afford baking powder to 

      make the dough rise.
